Letter to Supporters April 2008

Dear Friends:

Two Democrats and two Republicans ran in the primary for the seat of retiring Domestic Relations Judge Russell Steiner. I was the successful Democratic candidate and obtained more votes than any of the other three candidates. Thank you to all of you who helped and voted in the primary. Thank you to those of you who crossed party lines to vote for me. That cross over is no longer necessary because a judicial candidate does not run with a party affiliation from the primary to the general election. Finally, thank you to those of you who contributed to the primary campaign, including those who live outside of Licking County but expressed their support of and confidence in me by making a contribution.
To those of you who have asked: yes I'm still practicing law and yes I'm still taking new clients.
While I initially hoped to not have an opponent in the primary, Jerry Swank ran an aggressive and organized campaign and I applaud his efforts. The contested primary helped me to get organized more quickly and make some mistakes on a smaller scale. Now I'm ready to start the next phase of the campaign to win the general election in November for Judge of the Domestic Relations Court. I'm willing to devote time, effort and resources to winning this election, but I cannot do it without your help. Luckily, this is a new election and the contribution limits start over. Additionally, there is plenty of organizing, scheduling, designing, walking, and talking to do. If you are a member of a small group at which I can speak or at least introduce myself, please let me know. I want the public to know who they are voting for.
Please come to our campaign kick-off at my office on Friday, April 25th any time between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. and/or to our official fundraiser at The Buckeye Winery on the West side of the Square in downtown Newark on Tuesday, May 20th also from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Have a drink and a snack and talk with like-minded people. And please fill out the volunteer form so that we can keep track of you and contact you for the subjects for which you have volunteered. If we don't call you, call us.

Sincerely,

Vicky M. Christiansen
